"Gwen! You're back." Ethan uneasily noted as he walked to her to for a kiss.
"So did you finish the meetings early?"
"No, I missed you so much and had to sneak away for a bit." Gwen explained as she laid her things down in foyer of the Crane mansion.
She looked at Ethan "Something wrong?"
"Um..Oh! No! I just haven't slept much lately"
"Ooohhh! Did you miss me?" Gwen asked with a hug.
Actually, I've hardly even thought about you. That was mean, why did I think that?
"So how long are you in for?" Ethan asked trying to change the subject.
"I have to leave in the morning."
"Oh!" Ethan replied with a little too much enthusiasm.
"Ethan" Gwen kind of snapped "what is wrong with you?"
"I'm not sure, I think I'm going crazy." Ethan said jokingly. Crazy about Theresa.
Gwen got closer and pulled on his coat. "So, do you want to go upstairs?" she asked trying to look all sexy.
"Actually, I was thinking we could go to the Book Café"
Gwen let out a big sigh "The Book Café?"
"Yea, They are having karaoke tonight. I really wanted to go. It'll be fun."
Gwen snubbed her nose at the thought of spending her only night with Ethan at a local hangout. Then she looked up and realized that he really wanted to go. "Well, I guess we could call it a new adventure."
"You won't regret it" Ethan promised as they walked out the door.
"No! I'm not going to sing." Theresa said in defense as her brother Miguel, his girlfriend, Charity, and Whitney who were urging her to sing a song.
"Oh! Please, I haven't heard you and Miguel says you have a wonderful voice." Charity pleaded sadly.
Theresa cringed because she couldn't resist Charity's sincere pleading.
"One song. That's it no more…ever." Theresa said in defeat as she went to the stage.
"Chad, please just pick a nice song." Theresa requested not to happily.
"I have the perfect song in mind." Chad reported with a chuckle since he knew about her love for Ethan.
Ethan and Gwen entered the Book Café. "Well, no one's singing." Gwen stated.
"Oh! Look they are setting up for someone now." Ethan pointed out.
"Well, grab us a seat and I'm going to powder my nose."
The music started and Theresa immediately recognized Jessica Simpson's song "Did You Ever Love Somebody." She turned and gave Chad an evil eye.
"At least Ethan's not here." Theresa said to herself as she scanned the dark room.
Ethan heard the music and quickly reached for a seat "Oh! I'm sorry" Ethan whispered to the person he bumped into.
"Ethan…" Whitney exclaimed.
"What are you doing here? Where's Theresa?" Ethan asked looking around the table.
"Did you ever love somebody
Theresa began as she started towards Miguel and Charity.
Ethan's heart skipped several beats as Theresa's voice filled his body. He turned to look for her just as she approached.

They came face to face, eyes to eyes. Theresa struggled to continue.

Theresa tried to move but she was frozen in place.
As they stood there hypnotically, the words came straight from her heart.
"Did you ever lay your head down
I did. You did. Well, you know I understand.
Gwen stepped out of the ladies room astonished at the beautiful voice that filled the café. She looked to see who was singing. Then her heart stopped.
Theresa was singing this song to Ethan! They both stood there mesmerized with each other. Gwen could feel the rage fill her body from head to toe.
"No! Get a hold of yourself. This is not the time to deal with this matter. A better chance will come"

Ethan reached out for Theresa's hands.
"Did you ever love somebody
They stood together in a trace holding hands until Whitney jumped up and tore Theresa from Ethan's grasp.
"Honey, you were magnificent!" Whitney exclaimed as she pulled Theresa away from Ethan.
Ethan just stood in place dumbfounded until someone grabbed him from behind.
"Gwen..Um! Where have you been?" Ethan asked nervously.
"I just came out, who was singing? It was beautiful." Gwen asked innocently.
"It was Theresa. She has a gorgeous voice." Ethan boasted proudly turning to search for Theresa, who was surrounded by her friends.
Gwen could see that Ethan was falling for Theresa. Well, you little bitch, you are not going to get him.
"Come one Ethan, I'm tired and I have to head back to New York in the morning." Gwen suggested as she caressed his neck trying to get his mind off of Theresa.
Ethan turned to her with a look of disappointment. "Okay" He weakly replied as he continued his search for Theresa. Where is she?
Gwen grabbed his hand and pulled him out the door.
Theresa finally caught of glimpse of Ethan. He was leaving and was holding Gwen's hand.
"Maybe it was just me… Everyone was right, he doesn't feel anything for me and never will. He's going to marry Gwen." Theresa whispered.
"Ethan I'll be out in a moment" Gwen announced from his bathroom.
The door slowly opened … and Gwen slithered into the room in a sheer teddy. She walked to the bed and gently slid next to Ethan.
"Ethan, I've have missed you" Gwen whispered in his ear hoping to wake him. "I love you."
"I love you too, Theresa" Ethan replied still sleeping.
"Theresa!" Gwen whispered out loud. "How could he? How could she? I knew she was after him."
Well, she isn't going to get him. I am the one he's marrying in 3 weeks. There's no way she's going to stop the wedding, especially if I stop her first.
