How did you get the role on Passions?
I grew up in Dallas and did some modeling there to save up money to buy a car! I acted during high school and I always knew that was really what I wanted to pursue. So, I talked to the acting division at my agency and they got me the audition for Passions. I got called back and they flew me out to California twice.

What was your reaction when you got the part?
I was in Dallas, and my agent called and asked how I felt about the last audition. I said I felt good about it. Then, she asked if I thought I did well, and I said yes. And she said, “Well, I think you did really well!” And then she told me I got the part. After that, it was such a weird surge of emotions—I started laughing and crying.
What was it like leaving Dallas behind?
It’s been really hard. Los Angeles in general is hard to adjust to. It’s made me have to be more outgoing and social. Usually, I’m so busy with the show and school that I don’t have time to get too sad.

What’s it been like juggling school and work?
It’s funny because I used to be an irresponsible, happy-go-lucky kind of slacker and now I really don’t have a choice--I’m forced to take on a lot more responsibility. I think it’s definitely made me grow up a lot.
What are your plans after high school?
I plan to still be here at Passions, but I’m also applying to colleges. Depending on where I get in, I’d love to try to take a couple of classes. I definitely don’t want to miss out on college. Maybe I’ll defer a year and then go to school full time.
How do you like playing Kay?
Well, she’s definitely tenacious…and a little bit delusional at times! It’s fun to play someone who’s such a paradox. She has such vulnerability sometimes and then sometimes she can be so evil!
What would be your dream storyline for Kay?
I’d love Kay to find an ally in Tabitha. I think that would add such a cool dimension to my character—to be totally converted to the evil side! Right now, she’s straddling the fence, so to speak.

If you could play any other character on the show who would you play?
I’d love to play Reese! Bruce (Michael Hall) does such a good job bringing him to life. Reese is the kind of character that comes into a scene, says one line, and steals it!
Have you been recognized in public?
Yeah, but actually, people are kind of funny about it—they don’t come out and say it! This one girl was working behind the counter at Denny’s, and she said, “I saw you earlier today!” And I said, “Oh, you did?” And she said, “Yeah, on Passions!”
Do you have any similarities to Kay?
I guess jealousy is something I have in common with her. That’s the characteristic I really hate most about myself, because I think it’s just such a useless emotion. I know that Kay feels that about Charity.
Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
I’d either like to be in film or be a writer. I write now for fun. I keep a journal and write poetry. It’s hard for me sometimes to express how I feel, so it’s good for me to write to sort things out.

What advice would you give young girls who want to get into acting?
Be tenacious. I was really lucky—this job was one of the first things I auditioned for. I’ve met so many people out here who audition every single day waiting for a break. I really admire people with that determination.
If you could work with any actor or actress, whom would you work with?
I really like Catherine Keener, who was in “Your Friends and Neighbors” and is in “Being John Malkovich” right now. I also would want to work with Edward Norton.

If you had one wish what would it be?
Endless wishes!
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Introspective, spontaneous, and thoughtful.
