TRAVIS SCHULDT: PASSIONATE PERFORMER
Straight out of Dallas, Texas, Travis Schuldt is flying high with his big role on the NBC soap opera, Passions.
Travis plays the adorable and preppy Ethan Crane--and he sure lucked out with this role!
"I was working in Dallas and they were doing a search. They came to Dallas and I auditioned for it there and then came out to L.A. for a screen test."
Travis had spent most of his acting time in theater and in commercials. But this role is one that Travis calls his big break.
We caught up with Travis in his dressing room on the set of Passions to find out lots more about this new hunk on the soap scene.

Popstar: Where were you when you had found out you got the part?
Travis: I was in a dressing room on another show. [Laughs] I just got picked up on a pilot.

Popstar: How different is L.A. from Dallas?
Travis: Oh, vastly different. L.A. Has a lot more people, it's not as hot in the summer and you've got an ocean.

Popstar: Did you ever watch soaps before?
Travis: I used to watch with my mother when I was younger, back when I stayed home from school.

Popstar: Have you ever had any embarrassing moments on the set?
Travis: Yeah, every once in a while when I get into those nudie scenes. You just kind of see how open you really are. [Laughs] It's just a little uncomfortableness, because you're wearing these boxers and they're flesh colored. It's more funny than embarrassing.

Popstar: Do you get a lot of fan mail?
Travis: Yeah, I get fan mail. It's so great to check it out and see what everyone thinks of the show.

Popstar: Have you been recognized yet?
Travis: A couple of times. So far, people have said that they like the show and they thought that I did a good job. I try to talk to them and see what they like and what they watch.

Popstar: Have you had any weird fan experiences?
Travis: At one of the places I was shopping at, the girl there wanted to give me a hug. [Laughs]

Popstar: Who are your favorite actors?
Travis: Edward Norton----he's great. I love Helena Bonham Carter, Kristin Scott Thomas, Susan Sarandon, and Meryl Streep.

Popstar: It's summer all year in L.A., so do you like to swim?
Travis: Yeah! Ocean or pool----doesn't matter, I love it!

Popstar: Are you into the sun?
Travis: I don't really sit out. But if I'm out in the sun, I get a tan.

Popstar: Speedos or trunks on the beach?
Travis: Trunks. [Laughs]

Popstar: You've been so nice. So as a bonus, we'll send you anywhere in the world. Not really! But...what would your dream vacation be if we could make that happen?
Travis: I would like to go to Greece or some of the French isles...I don't even know what I'm talking about! [Laughs] But, I've seen articles and pictures. Places like the French Riviera.
