Soap Star World Article on Chris DeLisle

Actor: Chris DeLisle
Role: Chuck, Theresa's "make-believe" boyfriend, PASSIONS
Soap Debut: 2/2000

Have we seen the last of Chuck?: We think not. Although the PASSIONS writers left it ambiguous if Theresa will be able to continue her "I'm really not in love with Ethan" scam much longer. Have we seen the last of Chris?: Definitely not. The soap role opened doors for (at this writing) at least three other auditions.

Making his first speaking role on daytime, newcomer Chris DeLisle apparently has something the fans like. Apparently something that the casting director at PASSIONS, Jackie Briskey, liked, too. Actors are rarely, if ever, hired for a day player role (more than 5 lines) without benefit of a call back. And DeLisle was pretty much hired at his audition. According to sources, the reaction to Theresa's make-believe boyfriend, has all but guaranteed that he will make a return trip to Harmony very soon. From the time he first appeared, when Whitney ran over to him and asked him to pretend to be Theresa's beau, the Internet has been a glow. Everyone wants to know who that guy is, and SSW can tell you first.

"I haven't heard anything about being asked back," says DeLisle, "but it was incredible. A totally great experience. I did three episodes, and I couldn't believe how many people stopped me and said they saw the show or how many friends watched."

DeLisle has been acting in LA for several years and has done print modeling and commercials but this was his first big speaking role in daytime. He's come close to landing roles on several CBS soaps and is also in the process of looking for an agent. "It was so exciting," he enthuses with a laugh, "I had a wonderful time. And everyone was so nice. And then ... and then they paid me. I could easily get used to this."

He might have to. DeLisle (who recently got married ... sorry ladies!) is working with noted daytime talent manager Michael Bruno whose clients include daytime biggies like Lauren Koslow (Kate, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) and Kin Shriner (Scott, PORT CHARLES).
